SEND
Alcester Grammar School is one aspect of the much wider ‘Warwickshire Local Offer’ for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

At Alcester Grammar School we believe that all teachers are teachers of pupils with SEND. We operate a person-centred approach to SEND provision by considering the needs of the whole child, whilst working closely with parents/carers and external professionals.
Staff prioritise ensuring that the needs of the pupils with SEND are at the heart of Quality First Teaching and that school life is inclusive of all.
Staff receive regular INSET to ensure understanding of SEND and strategies to ensure students are well supported in the classroom, this includes new staff and trainee teachers. Certain support staff are trained to be ‘experts’ in different areas such as Autism Spectrum Condition, Memory & Organisation / Revision and Specific Learning Difficulties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia. The SENCO has gained the National SENCO Award.
