Post Results Services

AS and A level results are released on Thursday 15 August 2024 at 8am. GCSE results are released on Thursday 22 August 2024 and pupils must collect these at 8am from school. Please see the tab 'How to access your results' on the right hand side for further information, including grade boundaries.

The exam boards offer different post results services which are listed below. Payment should be made via ParentPay, and the fees are per paper, not per subject. Here are the fees GCE and GCSE

Before any post results services can be requested, all students must complete the online consent form that was sent to their AGS email account at the end of term. The consent form can only be accessed via an AGS email account. This confirms full understanding and acceptance that with any clerical check, review of marking, or any subsequent appeal, grades may go down as well as up or stay the same.  It further confirms that AGS has permission to access a copy of individual students' exam scripts on their behalf.  Once payment and the consent form has been completed this then means you have applied for a post results service(s).

If you are an external candidate then please use the information sent to you from the Exams Office.

ANY REQUESTS RECEIVED WITHOUT A CORRESPONDING CONSENT FORM WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.

It is essential that you put the subject and the exact individual paper code(s) in the 'Notes' field on ParentPay. These can be found here - AS/A level GCSE. Your exam timetable will also help you with the paper title. Coursework, Art and Photography cannot have any of the review of marking services listed. Queries should be sent via the relevant Head of Department.

If you request a post results service please make sure you check your email regularly in case there is a query regarding your request and for the outcome. Requests made which have incomplete information will not be processed.

ParentPay accounts may be disabled in September. If you need to request any services and do not have access to ParentPay then contact the Exams Officer for payment information via exams@alcestergs.com

All fees include a 2.5% administrative charge. If your overall grade changes you will receive a refund once this has been received by the exam board.

Any queries regarding AS Thinking Skills please email exams@alcestergs.com on the day you receive your results.

Priority review of marking – A level only:

This service is only available for a very short time and is for A Level students whose place in higher education is dependent on the outcome. It is vital that students inform their higher education provider as soon as a priority review of marking has been requested. By informing them, they may be able to keep the place open until the review has been completed. The exam board will not inform UCAS or others that a review of marking has been requested. It will advise UCAS of any grade change arising from a review. You must include your UCAS ID (it's ten digits) in the note's field on parentpay in order to proceed with this service. Deadline is by 12pm on Friday 16 August.

If you request a priority review of marking:

  • It includes a clerical re-check.
  • A second examiner will review the paper again to identify genuine marking errors or unreasonable marking. Your paper is not remarked.
  • Make sure all the marks are counted.

Your grade can go down as well as up or stay the same. It takes up to 15 calendar days for the outcome

Priority review of marking – GCSE Pearson subjects only:

This service is only available for a very short time and is for Pearson subjects only to help you decide your next steps. Deadline is by 12pm on Friday 23 August.

If you request a priority review of marking:

  • A second examiner will review the paper again to identify genuine marking errors or unreasonable marking. Your paper is not remarked.

Clerical re-check (all qualifications):

The exam board will check that they:

  • Marked all the pages.
  • Counted all the marks.
  • The result matches the marks on the paper.

Deadline is by 12pm on Monday 16 September.

Your grade can go down as well as up or stay the same. A clerical re-check takes up to 10 calendar days.

Access to scripts to support review of marking (all qualifications):

This service is also only available for a short time.  Ask for this if you need to see a copy of a paper before deciding whether to lodge a 'review of marking'.  Scripts sent may be hard copy or electronic. They are not guaranteed to arrive before the ‘priority review of marking’ deadline. Deadlines are by 12pm Wednesday 21 August for GCE and by 12pm Monday 2 September for GCSE.

Access to scripts to support learning (all qualifications):

This is if you would like to see a copy of your original exam paper to support your learning.  This service should NOT be used where a 'review of marking' is required because a copy of the script will not be back in time to meet this deadline. Deadline is by 12pm on Monday 16 September.
