Chemistry
Years 7 and 8
Year 7 follow a science programme consisting of Biology, Chemistry and Physics modules.
The Chemistry modules include:
- Introduction to Chemistry
- States of Matter
- Acids and bases
- Reactions of metals
- Chemical reactions
- Solubility
Topics are followed by end of topic assessments, focusing on celebrating the questions that students answered correctly whilst addressing gaps in knowledge.
At the end of year 7 students sit an end of year examination.
Year 8 continue with the key stage 3 programme, building on topics studies in year 7. For year 8 the end of year exam is an end of key stage 3 assessment ready to begin GCSE content in year 9.
GCSE
This qualification is linear which means that students will sit all their exams at the end of the course.
